For small teams, the technology stack is not as new as possible, but as simple as possible. Focusing core services on a few controllable components is often more stable and less expensive than stitching together a bunch of serverless services. A reasonable combination of open source frameworks + single cloud vendor + object storage backup can support most small and medium-sized businesses for more than a dozen dollars a month.
